Location of The Folly

The Folly is located on the southeast coast of the North Island of New Zealand, about 2 hours drive from central Wellington. To get to The Folly, you pass through Martinborough township and then drive south to the coast. Sunrise at The Folly

Go to Martinborough. This takes about 1 1/2 hours from Palmerston North or Wellington city. The road from Martinborough to The Folly will take about 40 minutes. Click the image for a map.

From the Martinborough Hotel entrance to the square, drive halfway around the square and exit south following the Palliser Bay sign. Trip your odometer as you leave the square, on the pedestrian crossing, to use the distances below.

1.8km	Take a left turn at the sign saying 'Te Awaiti / Tora'	View North
20km	Hau Nui wind farm on the summit
26.4km	Bridge - follow the right fork
31.5km	Tuturimuri School
31.9km	Take left fork to Te Awaiti and Tora
45.2km	On arriving at the coast, take left fork to Te Awaiti
46.8km	The Folly!
Look for "The Folly" sign on the top of the fence.
